Bothnian Bay National Park is located in the outer archipelago of Kemi and Tornio. The park’s first island emerged from the sea 1,000 years ago. Today, there are thirty low-lying islands and islets, although new ones are continuously forming. Rocky islets, flowering meadows and coniferous moors are important nesting sites for the rich birdlife of the area.
